Financial Statement Processing

Our Finance team receives duplicate financial statements for each account where Foundation Copilot manages back-office operations

Statements are typically received monthly, though some may arrive quarterly or semi-annually depending on the investment and financial institution

Most statements are delivered by mail, while others may be submitted via email, fax, direct client delivery, or secure online access

Each statement is logged into our system and scanned upon receipt

Once processed, statements are organized by region and assigned to the appropriate analyst

Account Reconciliation

Client accounts are reconciled continuously as statements are received

Statement data is reviewed and compared against internal system records

Information is entered either manually or through third-party data feeds (such as Advent Data)

Any discrepancies are identified and corrected to ensure accurate reconciliation

Finalized data is used to present client asset information within Impactfully and to support tax return preparation

Audit Support

Many private foundations choose to undergo an annual independent audit as a best practice. In some cases, state regulations may require a professionally conducted audit, often based on factors such as revenue thresholds or specific foundation activities. This process may include the preparation of formal financial statements. For clients who opt for or are required to complete an audit, Foundation Copilot provides comprehensive support, including detailed reports, spreadsheets, trial balances, and other essential documentation.
